Some of the things we'll cover in the meeting:
- our team's participation in a joint US-Canada experiment on the integration of digital volunteers in emergency management and recovery operations will rely heavily on the involvement of CanVOST members. In November, In Halifax ... team will support virtually .... more info here
- How the team can better use this platform PTSC-Online to support CanVOST's growth and development ... and how we can promote the team across Canada (perhaps with some $$$ support from the federal programm CSSP )
- How we can recruit more members and form a leadership "cadre" within the team .... we need leaders !
- Develop a set of procedures ... for activation, monitoring, reporting and online collaboration in real time
- what kind of tools we can use ... individual preferences + some key team-wide tools (skype, google hangout, google docs, others such as the SAINT software offered to us by RDANA tech in Vancouver ....see a video about the tech here
- set up an ongoing training and exercise program ... starting with the DVSROE in Halifax (see point 1 above) ... but continuing on a regular (monthly or quarterly basis) + ability to support/work with other VOSTs across the world and in the US

I started, but got sidetracked, an analysis of the CanVOST space in PTSC-Online, how it is being used and how it could be used more effectively. When finished I will post it in the CanVOST space so all your supporters can be aware of and benefit from it.
IGLOO has just added "Tasks" to the features available to us in PTSC-Online and I am in the process of implementing it for our community. I will add that feature to the CanVOST space as I believe having the capability to use individual, content aware and group tasks can, if used effectively, be very helpful in accomplishing the items you listed above.
Thank you for the effort you have put into CanVOST. I posted information about it with links to this space in the CSA on line community where I saw some good interest expressed.
