2014 will have marked a key milestone for CanVOST. More members, more interest ... all culminating in the recent #dvsroe/Cause III event in which we played a key role. We still need to improve our abiiity to sustain a team deployment for more than a couple of days ... but we are making progress.

So, a couple of points:

1. CanVOST will be looking for a new online home ... as you may know, PTSC-Online will more than likely shut down in early January ... I first want to personally thank William MacKay for offering this space to CanVOST when I first came up with the idea of a Canadian VOST a couple of years ago. it allowed us to have a strong, professional-looking presence online. A very definite plus in my opinion.  What we're doing:
   1. Exploring new options for hosting our online presence (more to come on that in a couple of weeks)
   2. safeguarding all our posts and uploads for future use
2. In the new year, we'll work to enhance our commonalities with other VOSTs ... ensure we can both help/receive support from other teams ...this means:
   1. training on team workflow ... using the common VOST workbook (as we did during the #dvsroe) ... ensuring we all understand how it works and makes our activities more compatible with the IMS/ICS.
   2. defining/identifying tools for team coordination and other collaborative platforms
3. to achieve all this ... we will need to do a few things in 2015:
   1. recruit yet more members and train them
   2. have monthly meetings
   3. promote the team across the country
4. Finally, we are also entertaining the idea of creating or supporting the establishment of a francophone VOST in Canada ... an ongoing project that will take shape over the next couple of months ...

So, to all team members, best wishes for the holiday seasons .... we'll call a meeting early in the new year to review lessons learned from the DVSROE ... and particular thanks again to Bill MacKay for his continued support.
