The CanVOST training section provides an overview of training to enable CanVOST members to perform their assigned responsibilities. The CanVOST positions, assigned responsibilities and training to enable performance of assigned responsibilities still need to be determined and developed. All persons who are supporting CanVOST by providing information about an incident will not necessarily require training, but key individuals will.

The method of documenting the training required by CanVOST supporters has been designed in such a way that most of the record keeping is maintained by the individual supporters, thus minimizing the the administrative effort required for the operation of CanVOST.

One possible way the training can be developed, organized and kept current is described below:

• Persons who wish to support  CanVOST are asked to update the EXPERTISE section of their PTSC-Online profiles to self declare their interest and their capabilities.  The first step is to add the words CanVOST Supporter. This creates a hyperlink so when you click on CanVOST Supporter in any profile, the profiles of all members who have declared themselves as supporters will be displayed. Secondly, place a comma after CanVOST Supporter and add the skills you have, separated by commas. Use the exact descriptions of the training from the TRAINING CanVOST Members wiki for consistency, to the extent possible. This will make it possible to quickly locate supporters with specific skills as each skill will become a hyperlink. This training is self declared and not verified but we will get to that later. 
  
  
• If verification of a qualification is required upload a PDF copy of your proof of training to the appropriate folder in the TRAINING RECORDS section.  
   
• A TRAINING CanVOST Members wiki article has been created for the purpose of documenting the overall CanVOST training strategy and program. 
   
• Training modules TRAINING - CanVOST - Title of Training Module wiki articles for each training module can be develpped and listed in the Training CanVOST members section (above) with links to the modules. These modules can can contain text, images, video and can link to external resources.
  
  
• Individuals who have been identified as CanVOST Training Resources will be added to a CanVOST training group so their profile pictures with a link to their profiles will be displayed in the box to the left. These resources may be volunteer or contract training resources.  (my name ihas been added to illustrate and will be replaced as others are identified)
  
  
• Once a process of validating trained volunteers has been established trained volunteers will be added to the Volunteers Roster.
