Community Awareness and Emergency Response - CAER
Community Awareness and Emergency Response - CAER - TRANSCAER
Following a presentation to some Toronto CAER groups, PTSC-Online established a Community Awareness and Emergency Response blog channel to help address feedback received at the meeting. PTSC-Online desires to work more closely with the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada, Canadian Association of Chemical Distributors and Canadian CAER groups to our mutual benefit. Discussion to date with national and local Responsible Care representatives confirm potential benefits for working together to collectively make better use of the newly available on line communication and collaboration tools. Here is how that can happen right now:
- Responsible Care representatives and CAER group members can join PTSC-Online and use our
- Events Calendar to announce events which should be of interest to PTSC-Online viewers.
- Community Awareness and Emergency Response blog channel to provide information about
their programs or initiate discussion which should be of interest to PTSC-Online viewers. This
provides an excellent opportunity to share and promote recent efforts you have undertaken in your communities. - WIKI knowledge base to share resources that may be of interest to other responders.
- PTSC-Online will promote the above events and articles with broadcast messages and our social media channels.
- PTSC-Onine can make additional features of our on line community available to CIAC Responsible Care, CAER or TRANSCAER groups or CACD initiatives on a national or local basis to support their programs. These could include dedicated group spaces or mini communities within PTSC-Online which can include blogs, discussion forums, calendars and wikis which can be provided for open or private secure discussion. The concept of a virtual open house was raised in a recent article and PTSC-Online can arrange that. Contact Bill MacKay to investigate these opportunities within PTSC-Online or options to set up a separate on line community which may optionally be linked to PTSC-Online..

I am seeking a partner with native French language capabilities to do 40-hour chemical emergency response training (HazMat technician/specialist levels) in a Francophile West African country. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in pursuing this opportunity, which will cover expenses for travel and approximately 80-120 billable hours of work.
