I have been encouraged with the amount of interest in networking with PTSC-Online expressed over the past weeks. Also, it is interesting that many of the organizations, although all different, have something in common.
If you have spent any time looking around Partnerships Toward Safer Communities - Online you will be aware that we have a NETWORKING section which highlights the different ways we work with other organizations with which we have a common interest. PTSC-Online was created to work with, not compete with, other emergency management and business continuity related organizations to improve our overall communication and help us cooperatively work together on common interests or issues.
Over the past several weeks we have been approached by a number of organizations including educational institutions and a number of national organizations which one way or another can support our emergency management programs. Most of these new organizations have not been included in the networking section but we expect to be adding them soon and an announcement will be sent out when that happens.
Why the interest and why the need? Most organizations struggle with the challenge of communicating and interacting with the audience they want to reach to deliver their key messages. It takes time and effort to develop and deliver ones messages and the right technology is required to deliver the messages and interact with ones audience. This task is compounded by the number of web sites, on line networks and social media channels which are being used today. A common problem mentioned by most organizations is that they have limited resources (manpower and financial) to accomplish this task.
PTSC-Online can help with the task of communicating with Canada's emergency management and business continuity audience in a number of ways.

- We provide state of the art cloud based communication and collaboration tools which are continuously being improved.
- Posting to PTSC-Online is as easy as writing an e-mail. There is no need to wait on webmasters to get ones message out.
- We focus specifically on the Canadian scene and issues and we have national coverage although our coverage and viewers are international.
- We promote your articles and events with social media (Twitter, Facebook Pages, Linked In, Google +) to increase your audience.

My company (eCAMION, Markham, Ont.) provides lithium battery technology and charging systems which provide cost effective and environmental friendly alternatives to generators for emergency vehicles, command centers etc. Is there a way we can network with you to help make emergency services and emergency managers aware of our technology?
Certainly Carmine, PTSC-Online would very much to have more suppliers involved. In fact we have created a section specifically for suppliers which has a Supplier's Directory where you can list your company and provide links to your web site, a Supplier's Calendar for suppliers to list upcoming events which promote their products and services and a Supplier's Blog which can be used to publish articles related to their business.
Suppliers are welcome and encouraged to participate in discussion in any of the PTSC-Online blogs, discussion forums and wiki. The supplier's section was just created to separate the commercial promotion from general discussion, although we use our social media channels to promote both.
Just fill out the membership form (membership is free), complete your profile and let me know you want access to the Supplier's Section to begin the process. I looked at your web site and I believe the lithium battery technology you provide can certainly be of use to the emergency services and emergency management programs.
