Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs: Our viewers should be thankful for the support CAFC provided which enabled the creation of PTSC-Online. Without the support of their well established respected association, Public Safety Canada funding would not have been available to help us develop, promote and operate PTSC-Online. We are thankful for members of the fire service who have joined PTSC-Online and I appreciated the opportunity to speak with newly elected CAFC President Stephen Gamble to discuss the benefits of increased CAFC involvement in PTSC-Online. We will see what happens as they consider the options.

Centennial College - Virtual Emergency Operations Centre:  Click on the title to the left for more information on this course being offered by Centennial College. The students taking this distance learning course are investigating options for the virtual operation of an Emergency Operations Centre. I had the pleasure of introducing PTSC-Online to the students through a web conference and we looked specifically at how the IGLOO technology on which PTSC-Online operates could be used to support a virtual EOC. I don't know which technologies the class will choose to experiment with but I hope they will keep our viewers informed as they consider the options. We also encourage student involvement to help build links between emergency management students and career emergency managers to help students enter the profession.
